Abayomi Fagbenro, eyeing the Ibadan Southwest/Ibadan Northwest Federal constituency seat...

Abayomi Fagbenro, an aspirant for the seat of Ibadan Southwest/Ibadan Northwest Federal constituency of Oyo state, on Monday told Nigerians not to vote for candidates of both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the National Assembly in the 2019 general elections.

Fagbenro, who is eyeing the Federal House of Representatives seat on the platform of the Young Democratic Party (YDP), noted that both APC and PDP are the same entity corrupting the Nigeria’s democratic process.

The YDP aspirant, popularly known as Bibi Ire, maintained that APC and PDP are just deceiving the Nigerian masses, as non of the two parties has the interest of the country at heart.

According to him, since the legislative arm of government is crucial to the survival and sustenance of any democracy, members of the two political parties should be voted out of the Nigeria’s National Assembly in next year’s elections.

Fagbenro, who revealed that he came back home from the United States of America (USA) to participate in the 2019 elections, said Nigerians in the diaspora are not happy about series of dramas going on in the National Assembly.

He maintained that his desire to improve upon the situation and to assist down trodden Nigerians necessitated the ambition to represent Ibadan Southwest/Ibadan Northwest constituency, as he has been doing so through his Non – Governmental Organization, Hope Also Need Help Foundation, in the last few years.

His words: “I am a humanitarian. After serving in the US Navy, I felt that I should come back home to give back to my society.  I have always come back home. I came home twice a year before, but in the last five years, I used to come home at least, six times in a year to study the environment. I stayed with my people, and tried to examine and proffer solutions to some of their problems.

“That made me to establish the NGO, Hope Also Need Help Foundation. We embark on medical outreach and so on. This desire to assist the down trodden made me to venture into politics. I felt there was the need for political power to be able to do more. I have consulted with my friends and family members before taking the decision”.
