Super Eagles’ target, Adeleke Akinyemi transfer saga is almost over as Norwegian Eliteserien side, IK Start have reached a club-to-club agreement for the transfer of the highly coveted striker.
The 20-year-old Akinyemi has agreed a deal that will keep him at IK Start until December 2021 and has arrived in Norway to join his new employer.
He was on the wishlist of several clubs in Europe not limited to Red Star Belgrade, Waasland-Beveren, Dukla Prague, Helsingborgs IF, Brondby, Spartak Moscow, Dynamo Kiev and Bordeaux plus Israeli side, Maccabi Netanya in the summer transfer window.
During his time with FK Ventspils, the prolific striker scored 32 goals from 50 appearances, including seven in the qualifying rounds of this season’s Europa League.
Akinyemi was recently named Player of the Month for July 2018 in the Latvian Virsliga.
