How Atiku Care Foundation Stormed Yola

The city of Yola was taken by storm on Friday by executives of the Atiku Care Foundation who were in the city to hold a meeting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a front line Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, as Mai Shayi hosted them to breakfast.

A statement signed by the Atiku Care Foundation spokesman, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available on Saturday informed that on sighting the branded vehicles of the foundation, the residents of Bakin Kasuwar axis of Yola thronged the occupants and started chanting ‘Sai Waziri’ and offered them free breakfast.

The Zonal Director North West, Alhaji Zanna expressed gratitude to the Mai Shayi and assured him that members of the foundation remain committed at ensuring that Atiku emerges President in 2019.

Speaking in Hausa, the Mai Shayi thanked the executives for supporting Atiku, whom he said has touched several lives in Adamawa State and Nigeria through creation of job opportunities.

The Mai Shayi who simply identified himself as Ibrahim Mai Shayi, prayed that God makes the former Vice President victorious.

“We the petty business people in Yola are earnestly praying that Wazirin Adamawa becomes President to ease our suffering and make businesses grow in the country,” he said.

Later during a visit to Wazirin Adamawa by the national executives at his residence, he said he was proud to be associated with the foundation.

“I am grateful for all the humanitarian gestures this foundation has done on my behalf and also appreciate this visit,” he said.

Earlier, National Chairman of the foundation, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas told him that the executives of the foundation were in Yola from all over the country to pay him Sallah homage as well as brief him on successes recorded so far as well as challenges been faced.

Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Yola camp, earlier empowered by the foundation also accompanied the executives on the visit to say thank you and present a gift to Wazirin Adamawa.

Later at the Lamido of Adamawa Central Mosque, Yola town, the excited crowd of Muslim faithful there for Juma’at went wild, chanting ‘Nigeria Sai Waziri’.

Also spotted at the same mosque were Adamawa State Governor, Jibrilla Bindow, and the Lamido of Adamawa, His Royal Highness, Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha.

After the mosque, Atiku in a convoy of over 50 vehicles left for the Yola Airport from where he took a flight to Abuja, where he was billed to attend several meetings.
