Osun United Football Club claimed a big win over Stationary Stores Football Club in Matchday 9 of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League decided on Wednesday September 12, at the Oshogbo Township Stadium with a goal from Holalere Hakeem, Ahmed Rasheed and Uche Okorie.

Coach Duke Udi made just one change to the team that defeated FC Minda 2-1 on Sunday in the 2018 Aiteo Cup as Chinedu Emmanuel replaced David Fadairo in the starting line up.

The entertaining match saw the Omoluabi Giants get an early goal in the 2nd minute of the exchange when Olalere latched onto a defensive error by Store’s defender and coolly slotted home with a brilliant assist from Ahmed.

Stores came close to scoring through Toyeeb Gidado, Madukwe Orji and Kabir Adeniji, but Osun United’s goalkeeper Nurudeen Lateef, was at his best to tame their efforts with scintillating saves.

The host continued their attacking display as they mount the pressure on the the visitors and their effort paid off in the 78th minute of the exchange with Ahmed scoring the second goal as he hammers home in confident fashion.

Stores upped their game after conceding the second goal and they nearly get a goal on 88 minutes as Nurudeen produces a brilliant save from Orji’s low shot, he recovers to deny Orji second attempt via a fantastic nodding.

With only four minutes of coming on, Okorie put the game beyond the Lagos-based team, when he scored the third goal of the thrilling encounter for the Omoluabi Giants in the three minutes of the added time with a nice half volley in off a brilliant set piece from Oginni Olatunbosun.

The 3-0 emphatic win has taken Osun United off drop zone.
