Gubernatorial aspirant of People’s Democratic Party in Kwara State, Hon. Zakari Mohammed has assured Kwarans of an all-inclusive government, if elected as the state governor come 2019.
While formally submitting his expression of interest and nomination form at the national Secretariat of the party in Abuja, former Special Assistant, Commissioner for Sports and Chairman of Kwara United said Kwarans need a governor who will not only cater for their yearnings but also be friendly to all, noting that his administration will usher in sustainable development and a government for all.
He added that since Kwara is a melting pot of different cultures in Nigeria, he would ensure an aggressive development of agriculture so as to address the unemployment problem in the state.
He vowed to address rural development as a way of combating the menace of rural-urban drift, which he admitted puts enormous pressure on the existing facilities in the urban centres.
Zakari reaffirmed his confidence in clinching the ticket of the party at the primaries and fly the flag of the party as the 2019 gubernatorial candidate.
“I am very ready and committed to pursue my governorship aspiration to its logical conclusion by winning the governorship election. I am in this race to win win and win. Insha Allah, nothing is stopping us since my mandate to lead the state is divine, coupled with the clarion by the majority,” he said
A party faithful who pleaded anonymity, expressed delight at the development, saying he was convinced that given the profile, achievements and antecedents of Hon. Zakari, he was sure of victory, assuring party members of success come 2019.
