Rwandan club Rayon Sports have said they are determined to beat Enyimba in the second leg of their quarter-final clash in the CAF Confederation Cup in Aba on Sunday.

The two sides played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg  in Kigali on Sunday.

Rayon coach Roberto Goncalves said his players were ready to beat the People’s Elephant to reach the  semi-finals.

“My boys played well although we failed to achieve the win we wanted while playing at home but we can win in Nigeria,” Goncalves told KweseESPN.

“I liked the way my players controlled the game, but we must improve on getting the goals. We got a vital win away from home against Gor Mahia in the group stage, and we can go and do the same away in Nigeria.

“The absence of one of our key players Yannick Mukunzi was also a problem but the motivation among the players is very high. We are surely going for a serious battle in the return leg in Nigeria.”

Also, captain Abdul Rwatubyaye said, “We now know what to expect in Nigeria and we are determined to make history and qualify for the semi-finals.”

Rayon are the first Rwandan side to qualify for the quarter-finals of a CAF club competition.

Meanwhile, Enyimba play Nationwide League One side Dynamite Force on Wednesday in a rescheduled Aiteo Cup round of 32 clash in Nnewi.

Coach Usman Abdallah said his team would not underrate their opponents.

“In this type of competition, there are no small teams. Any team can surprise highly-rated teams but even without knowing them, we can use the first 20 minutes of the game to know our opponents and then carry on with them,” he told ACL Sports.

“We won’t underrate the team because we have seen a non-league side beat a league side. We have seen NNL sides beating Premier League sides, so I think there is no big team in this competition only that it depends on your preparations and how you approach your opponents and we will never be complacent no matter the level of our opponents. We will try to do it the best way so that we can proceed to the next level.”
