The demise of Dr (Evangelist) Moses Olaiya Adejumo, veteran Nigerian king of comedy has been announced. He died on Sunday.

Several times in the past three years, the creative Nigerian was announced dead only for the rumour to be dispelled.

In a Facebook post, one of the comedian’s sons, Boisala Emmanuel Adejumo said “My Daddy is gone. Finally gone home to glory. King of Comedy finally says bye-bye to this world. I will miss you so much Daddy. I love you so much but God loves you more. Good night my mentor, father, teacher, gist partner. My daddy is gone.”

Baba Sala had suffered old age ailments for a long while and was always in and out of the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.

PMParrot gathered that he died late Sunday evening in Ilesa, his hometown in Osun State and his remains have been taken to an undisclosed hospital in the same town.

Notable comedians, Gbenga Adeyinka and Ali Baba have joined other great Nigerians to mourn a man, who, according to them, was a great source of inspiration.

Said Gbenga Adeyinka in a brief chat with PMParrot “We will surely miss Baba Sala. He was a man who had comedy running in all his veins. Nigerians must pray for the family he left behind.

The late entertainer was born on May 17, 1937 and he died on Octorber 7, 2018.
