A former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abioye Mathew Adegboyega has condemned and described as act of wickedness, the proposed increment in the tuition fee of the students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomosho jointly owned by the governments of Oyo and Osun states.

Hon. Abioye who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogo Oluwa/Surulere federal constituency in the 2019 general elections, explained that for over four years now, LAUTECH as a reputable institution has not run two sessions successfully, stressing that it has always been one issue or another owing to the lackadaisical attitude to fund the said institution on the part of the two owner States.

While condemning the recent increment of tuiton fee from N65,000 to N200,000 per session for indigenes of the two owner States and N70,000 to N250,000 for non-indigenes, Hon. Abioye noted that the act shows how insensitive and ruthless the APC govt is to the plight of the masses, adding that the action would further impoverish the less privileged people in the society.

He further hinted that the hike in tuition fee as announced by the management of the said institution is an indication that the APC-led government has no plan for the masses and therefore, the electorates should use their voting power to vote them out in 2019 elections.

While appealing to the affected students not to take laws into their hands while protesting over the hike, Hon. Abioye assured that the PDP government will cater for the welfare of the people and improve their standard of living if voted to power in 2019 general elections.
