The State Ministry of Information and Strategy in Ogun State has been commended for its strategic information management system which has consistently helped in the sustenance of mutual understanding between the State government and the people.
Members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism led by Hon. Akinpelu Aina, represented by Hon.Adebiyi Adeleye gave the commendation while assessing the 2018 budget performance of the Ministry and other related agencies in Abeokuta.
The members also lauded the revenue drive of the Ministry for recording over 174% which was achieved through advert placement and other proceed from rentage of other communication gadgets.
They acknowledged the outstanding performance of the management of the Ministry in keeping the people informed about government activities while reporting their feedback to the appropriate government quarters.
The lawmakers including Ganiyu Oyedeji, Olayiwola Ojodu, Tunde Sanusi applauded the transparency in the budget implementation process of the Ministry with a charge on the Management of the Ministry to evolve more measures at improving on their revenue drive which they described as laudable and remarkable even in the face of paucity of fund.
Responding, the Commissioner in charge of the Ministry, Otunba Adedayo Adeneye said the Ministry had in the period under review, designed and carried out numerous print and broadcast programmes to effectively disseminate government’s policies and programmes to the people.
Adeneye, who hinged the success recorded by the Ministry on teamwork, added that the Ministry had ensured blockage of revenue leakages also assured that the Ministry would continue to be more result-oriented in the next fiscal year.
The Commissioner tasked officers in the Ministry to continue to put in their best at ensuring more productivity in information management, with an assurance that the State television would be connected to the Independent Power Plant as soon as possible to reduce cost.
