The Chairman, Lagos Mainland Local Government, Hon. Omolola Essien has donated vehicles to the members of legislative arm of the local government to aid their movements in the course of performing their official assignments.

The Chairman, while presenting nine Toyota Camry and some Toyota Highlander Jeeps to her vice,  Hon. Jubril Emilagba, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Oguniyi, Councillors and other members of the executive posited that her administration would continue to give members of the legislative arm the wherewithal to perform their duties effectively, stressing that the Councillors are partners in progress.

According to her, “On our part, we shall provide a very conducive environment for our legislators to enable them perform effectively.

“I also want to thank our distinguished legislators, for working cordially with the executive  in an attempt to ensure improvement in the economy of the local government as well as in the welfare of our citizenry.

“We cannot do otherwise since the two institutions are working towards the same goal of ensuring meaningful and sustainable development of our community.

“Our administration will continue to provide the lawmakers with the wherewithal to perform its statutory functions within the limit of the financial resources of Government.”

Hon. Omolola Essien, who is also the Chairman,  Conference 57, therefore, tasked the legislators to take make use of the cars in a way that will enable them discharge their duties accordingly

The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Oguniyi, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, appreciated the chairman for the gesture, noting that the chairman is a good person that needs the support of everyone to succeed.

The leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Mutiu Ogunsheye in his response thanked the Council boss for the gift, noting that the Legislative and Executive arm would continue to work together to bring more development to the local government area.
