Arrangements are in top gear for the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN Commission) to host a Colloquium to mark the 60th birthday of one of the most erudite monarchs in Nigeria, the Orangun of Oke-Ila in Osun State, Oba (Barrister) Adedokun Abolarin.
According to the letter of invitation sent to PMParrot, the event will hold on December 6, 2018 in Oke-Ila.
In addition, the occasion will also be used to raise funds for the Abolarin College in the ancient town.
A source close to the vibrant monarch confided in PMParrot that “Kabiyesi’s major interest is in the school. He is very anxious to see that the school attains the greatest heights.
“For those who do not know, the Abolarin College is a school for extremely brilliant children of the poor. Upon admission, they are expected to come in with only few clothings. The school is free for them. Absolutely free.”
We were informed that the monarch is so passionate about the school to the extent that he regards his students as his biological children.
“He gives them ‘pep-talks’ at every opportunity he has. He wants all his friends to come and celebrate his 60th birthday with him by donating towards the school which has been running for some years now.”
When contacted, Seye Oyeleye, the Director General at DAWN Commission confirmed that all plans are being put together to ensure that the special Colloquium records tremendous success.”
