Beneficiaries and prospective developers of the lock-up shops, open stalls and vacant sites at the Agric Olope Neighbourhood Market in Ado-Ekiti have been directed to complete the development of the site and put them to use without further delay.

The permanent secretary, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Adeyiola Ibitoye gave the directive during an on-the-spot assessment visit of the project site.

Mr. Adeyiola, who expressed disappointment at the unkempt state of the market stalls and surrounding, submitted that it was high time the properties be developed and put to optimum use.

He maintained that any developer who failed to comply with this directive within six weeks stands the risk of forfeiting the property.

It would be recalled that the market, which was built by Dr. Kayode Fayemi during his first tenure consists of one hundred and forty (140) lock-up shops with all allocated; one hundred and twenty (120) open market stalls with one hundred and six (106) allocated; some vacant and partitioned areas; and four ware houses.
