The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ekiti State Chapter, the statutory youth organization established by an act of parliament of 1964 has deemed it fit to herald the first ever Ekiti Youth Carnival to bring all shades of youths in the State together to celebrate as one, the new year season, showcasing their different talents and the cultural heritage and values of Ekiti people to the rest of the World.
The Ekiti Youth Carnival, the first youth programme that has the encouragement and support of the government of Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the current Executive Governor of Ekiti State in the new year 2019 will also help to showcase the good programmes, good intentions, plans and youth focused initiatives of his government to the youths and a display of total departure from what has been experienced in the past.
Going by the details revealed from a recent interaction PMParrot had with the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter, Comrade Fabunmi Eyitayo and the Committee Chairman for the 2019 Ekiti Youth Carnival, Comrade Tosin Adeniran; the Maiden Ekiti Youth Carnival 2019 will be opened on the 4th of January, 2019 with a Carnival Walk and Village Kitchen display at the Fajuyi Pavillon located at the popular Fajuyi Area of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.
The organizers further revealed that “during the Carnival, there will be a massive display and showcasing of different cultural costumes, attires, dresses, dances and beats reflecting on the beauty of the culture of the Ekiti people to the rest of the country and the world at large thereby giving the young people of the State a sense of belonging.
“On the 5th of January, 2019; there will be a Public Lecture and the formal investiture of the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi as the Grand Patron of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter and this will be followed by a Public Lecture on the topic: ‘Changing The Youth Narratives, Good Towards Restoring Our Values As A People’ to be delivered by Barrister Festus Keyamo, a frontline Nigerian Lawyer and the Spokesperson for the President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term Presidential ambition for 2019 as well as Dr. Tunji Asaolu, a representative and official of the African Union (AU) at the AB Hotel Hall at Olora in Ado Ekiti.
“On the same Saturday January 5th, 2019; there will also be a Dinner Night at 5:00pm at the AB Hotel Hall, Olora in Ado Ekiti. During the Dinner Night, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi will serve as the Special Guest of Honour; Prince Adedayo Adeyeye, the Chairman of Voice 89.9FM and the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for the Ekiti North Senatorial District in the 2019 general elections will serve as the Father of the Day; Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the Wife of the Executive Governor of Ekiti State will serve as the Mother of the Day; Oba Adejimi, the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti is the Royal Father of the Day; Honourable Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) for the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter and the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Ekiti Central Senatorial District is the Chief Host while Comrade Eyitayo Fabunmi, the State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ekiti State Chapter is the Host for the events highlighted for the two days”, the Planning Committee Chairman for the events, Comrade Tosin Adeniran concluded.
