Worker on the pay roll of the Kayode Fayemi-led government in Ekiti State have been charged to be alive to their official responsibilities.
While giving this charge, the Permanent Secretary in the Ekiti State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Foluke Adeyemo also added that they should justify the confidence reposed in them as public officers.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti during her maiden meeting with officials of the Ministry, Mrs Adeyemo stressed the need for the personnel to be proactive and have a good and positive attitude to their official responsibilities.
Mrs Adeyemo urged the workers to familiarise themselves with the Ministry’s work plan towards achieving effective implementation of the plan.
The Permanent Secretary, who assured that workers welfare would be prioritized in the Ministry, said the body language of Governor Kayode Fayemi-led administration in the State has shown that salaries would be regular noting that in less than three months of assuming office, the new administration has paid four months salaries including one month arrears.
Adeyemo however emphasised the need for the workers to reciprocate the kind gesture of government by regularly displaying loyalty to the government and commitment to duty.
The Permanent Secretary, promised regular in-house training and retraining for workers to enhance the capacity and efficiency in the workforce and admonished all the Deputy Directors in the Ministry to work in absolute co-operation with their Directors, stressing the importance of team work in achieving set goals.
