Budget Passes Through First Reading At Oyo House

The Oyo State House of Assembly is presently deliberating on the state’s 2019 Appropriation and Finance bills as they have already passed through first reading.

The House passed for a law for the Appropriation a sum of N121,528,565,423.76 (One hundred and twenty one billion, five hundred and twenty eight million, five hundred and sixty five thousand, four hundred and twenty three naira for recurrent expenditure, while N163,471,434,576.24 (One hundred and sixty three billion, four hundred and seventy one billion, four hundred and thirty four thousand, five hundred and seventy six naira, twenty four kobo for  capital expenditure.

The 2019 budget of N285,000,000,000.00 (Two hundred and eighty five billion) was presented by Governor Abiola Ajimobi on 31st December, 2019.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House, Olagunju Ojo has inaugurated an adhoc committee that will look into grey areas in the Survey (further amendment) Bill, 2018 after the bill has been read for the second time.

The adhoc committee will be chaired by Deputy Speaker, Hon. Musah Abdulwasi, while Hon. Bolanle Agbaje, Hon. John Olaleru, Hon. Fatai Adesina, Hon. Bolanle Agbaje and Hon. Olusegun Ajanaku.

The House has also directed Hon. Silas Okunlola to represent his motion on the “Need to fast track ongoing rehabilitation of the water schemes located across the communities in the state to improve the health status of our people.”

Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon. Joshua Oyebamiji, who clarified the issue said that the House gave the directive in order correct some gray areas.
