Founder of Shafaudeen In Islam, Worldwide, Professor Sabit Olagoke Ariyo has said that application of child rearing principles is one of the ingredients for properly bringing up children.
The former Dean, School of Engineering, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro identified this at the 14th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition of Shafaudeen Group of School, Wakajaye held on Saturday, 17th January, 2019 at Christ Primary School, Wakajaye, Ibadan.
Prof. Olagoke expressed that the ability to know and uphold fundamental rights, opportunity to relate even theoretical lessons and real life situation as expected of functional education and good citizens as some of the advantages of the principles of child rearing.
He charged governments at all levels, media, parents, institutions of learning, professional bodies, voluntary organizations and security agencies to adopt the principles to bring out best out of the children for future credible leadership and governance for sustainable development.
Prof. Olagoke also advised youths to allow sports to promote unity among them irrespective of religious affiliation and not allow themselves to be used as agents of destruction by politicians.
The Chairman of the Day and former Nigerian Labour Congress Chairman in Oyo State, Comrade Olu Abiala commended Prof. Olagoke Ariyo and the management of Shafaudeen Group of Schools for their efforts towards promotion of religious harmony.
He used the opportunity to implore all and sundry in Oyo State especially now that election is approaching to be tolerant of one another in order to record hitch-free exercise.
Meanwhile, this year’s edition of Shafaudeen Group of Schools sporting event witnessed Purple House (Grand Ameerah) emerging over all winner with 104 points, while Green House (Shafaudeen House) is the first runner up with 90 points.
White House (Rasool House) and Blue House (Olagoke) came 3rd and 4th respectively with 84 points and 63 points.
