The President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Najeem Yasin has warned members of his union nationwide against political thuggery and other  activities that can truncate the peaceful conduct of next month’s general elections.

Addressing a cross section of commercial drivers in Ado Ekiti, Alhaji Yasin explained that the Union would not hesitate to deal decisively with any culprit found in such act.

He noted that the Union was apolitical and was ready to support President Muhammadu Buhari towards achieving a free fair and credible poll. He charged the Executives of the Union in the state to cooperate with Governor Kayode Fayemi and give priority to the welfare of members.

Responding, the Chairman of NURTW in Ekiti State, Mr. Osho Farotimi said members of the Union have been re-orientated on the need to maintain peace and never allow themselves to be used as tools of destruction during elections.

Mr. Farotimi therefore solicited for the support of the NURTW members in Ekiti State to move the union forward irrespective of their differences.
