As part of its plans to garner support for the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, one of his support groups, Bayo Adelabu Optimum Vanguard will be meeting sports’ stakeholders.
According to Akinsola Ige, one of the stakeholders who spoke with PMParrot on Wednesday, the event will hold on Thursday, January 31.
Said Akinsola “BAOVA will engage the entire sports community in Oyo State at the Main bowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan by 10 am.
“The engagement is part of the mobilisation efforts of the group to ensure the victory of Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the APC gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming March 2, 2019 election. The proposed interaction being initiated by BAOVA is equally aimed at engaging the entire sports community on ways to improve the fortunes of sports in Oyo State. It will also serve as a means of ensuring that the welfare of sports personalities in the state is placed on the front burner.
“Apart from sports’ stakeholders expected to be present at the event, a major attraction of the programme will be the presence of Chief Adebayo Adelabu who has firmly committed himself to being part of the engagement.
“Chief Adelabu is expected to use the occasion to seek the support of the entire sports community in Oyo State for his gubernatorial ambition. He will also use the occasion to present some of the sports related programmes he will unfold for the benefit of the sports community in Oyo State when he gets into office as Governor.”
