The immediate past Chairman of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education, (EKSUBEB) Senator Bode Ola, has returned to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State.

Ola, a former staunch member of ACN left the party three years after his senatorial ticket was given to another aspirant, said he was not returning because President Muhammadu Buhari won a second term ticket, but due to his respect for the state’s Governor Kayode Fayemi and his developmental drive in the State.

After leaving the ACN, he joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, where former Governor Ayo Fayose appointed him as the SUBEB boss.

Bode Ola announced his return to the APC  at a news conference, in  Ado-Ekiti recently. He promised to speak to the leadership of the party and government in the state on the need to accommodate and work with the government of the day.

He described Gov. Kayode Fayemi as a listening leader who is determined to work for the development of the state and giving the welfare of the people utmost priority it deserved.

His words “When I left the ACN some years ago, it was because of the injustice done to me, it was clear at that time that they were not ready to protect the interest of all members. I am back now because the new leadership has promised to right all wrongs and avoid mistakes of the past.

“I have discussed with members of the party and they have asked for amnesty; we need assurance from APC that party members will be given equal treatment and a level playing ground.

“I am returning to my great beginning; I want to start all over again as one family,” he said. He implored his supporters to forget the past and work towards party unity, and assured them that the party has assured him of equal opportunity for all.

The former SUBEB boss, described the PDP as a party of deceit, especially the former Governor, who he described as a person who doesn’t listen to advise, but acts as a sole administrator.

Ola, was a Senator between 2009 and 2011 after reclaiming his stolen mandate from Senator Femi Kila at the Court of Appeal in Ilorin when he represented Ekiti Central Senatorial District under the Action Congress of Nigeria.
