South West Alignment: Day Groups Endorsed Adelabu, Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun As Governors

Groups under the auspices of Grand Council of Yoruba Youths (Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba) have publicly endorsed the candidature of All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun as governors in their various states.

The endorsement programme, which was held at Western Hall, Oyo State House of Assembly Complex, Secretariat, Ibadan witnessed the presence of some of the representatives of various associations.

Some of the associations included the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Market Women Association, Non Indigenes Association, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Okada Riders Association, Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), Egbe Omo Odua (USA and UK), as well as Civil Society Organization led by Com. (Mrs.) Kehinde Ola-Oni.

The Chairman of occasion, Senator Ayo Fasanmi, who was represented by Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede, disclosed that President Muhmmadu Buhari’s performance and intention earned him the second term ticket.

Otunba Ogunkeyede explained that the administration of President Buhari which was termed ‘go slow’ after it was inaugurated in 2015 due to the leadership of the National Assembly, which consisted of people with questionable characters.

He pointed out that the purpose of the day’s gathering was to ensure that Yoruba states toe the line of progressives that is ruling in the country in order to ensure even development of the region. He added that the step will go a long way to guarantee the people of the South West more dividends of democracy.

While endorsing APC’s gubernatorial candidates of Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, he stated that it is imperative for South Western state to align with the government at the center by voting the candidates of APC during Saturday’s gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections to sustain the progressives’ developmental agenda as highlighted by Chief Obafemi Awolowo who promoted free education system.

The convener and Chairman Planning Committee, Comrade Awa Bamiji enjoined the people of Oyo, Lagos, and Ogun States to come on Saturday, March 9 to vote for the candidates of All Progressives Congress to ensure sustainability, even and rapid development of the South West region.

Comrade Awa Bamiji commended President Muhammadu Buhari, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security operatives for creating a level playing ground to ensure not only free and fair but also credible election.

Alhaja Iswat Ameringun, who represented Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, Comrade (Mrs.) Kehinde Ola-Oni and other representatives from different parts of the region expressed their opinion on why Oyo, Lagos and Ogun States should not deviate from the government in power at the center, saying that they are all in support of the candidature of Adebayo Adelabu, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun as governors of the respective states.
