Day Ogun Assembly Got The Bill Seeking The Establishment Of State Investment Promotion Agency

The Ogun State House of Assembly recently got from Governor Ibikunle Amosun a correspondence proposing a bill to establish the State Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, who read the governor’s letter dated 2nd of April, 2019  last week at the plenary said the governor’s request was approved by the State Executive Council.

“I forward herewith a bill to establish the Ogun State Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency and for Other Matters Connected Therewith,  2019, as approved by the State Executive Council for the kind consideration and passage of the House of Assembly”, the letter partly reads.

In the same vein, the Assembly adopted the report of the Adhoc Committee set up to review for adoption, the harmonized copy of the South West Houses of Assembly Rules and Standing Orders.

The adoption of the report was sequel to the presentation of the report of the Committee by the Deputy Speaker,  Olakunle Oluomo, who thereafter moved the motion for its adoption,  seconded by the Chief Whip,  Idowu Olowofuja and supported by the Whole House through a voice vote.

The Assembly also resolved to carry out a situation performance assessment on the Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the State in accordance with the 2019 Appropriation law, preparatory to the winding down of government on May 29, 2019.

This followed a motion moved by the Deputy Speaker, seconded by Hon Olowofuja and supported by the Whole House through a voice vote.

In another development, a member representing Yewa South State Constituency,  Hon Julianah Akintayo submitted a petition to the Assembly on behalf of Ifedola, Ifesola, Olorunsogo, Temidire,  Orile Oke-Ola, Surulere, Mosafejo, Oluwakorede, Imole-Ayo, Mobolorunduro and other Communities appealing for the Assembly’s intervention to prevent breach of peace and threat to lives of inhabitants of the communities.
