How Ogun Govt Disbursed N200m Micro-Credit Scheme To Women In Three Months

Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has disbursed a sum of N200m to a total of 7, 350 women in the 7th Phase of her micro-credit scheme in the last quarter.

The Commissioner in charge of the Ministry, Mrs Abiola Kufile-Okonji, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, (Mrs) Ranti Oladeinde said this at the budget performance evaluation by members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation led by Hon.Victor Fasanya at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan.

Kufile-Okonji noted that the programme which would be rounded off in April, 2019 would help empower women  as a means to attaining sustainable growth and societal development.

She added that the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration was irrevocably committed to investing in women empowerment and skills acquisition programmes to enable them better their lives and become self-reliant so as to contribute to the development of the State and the nation at large.

The Commissioner explained that the Ministry had set up mechanism to reconcile 36 estranged couples whose cases were referred to them, with a total of 220 cases successfully resolved out of the 315 family cases handled by the Social Development Area Offices of Local Government Council Areas.

In another development, the State Property and Investment Corporation said it has generated N1.32Bn in the last three months of the year.

The revenue according to the Managing Director, OPIC Barr. Babajide Odusolu, represented by the Director of Finance and Account, Mr. Adeniyi Adenekan  said the revenue was generated from contractor and deed registration fees, change of ownership fee, sales of building, rent on government assets and properties amongst others.

Also, the State House of Assembly, Ministry of Regional Integration, State Universal Basic Education Board, Bureaux of Lands and Housing and Information Technology, D. S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, State Cassava Revolution Programme, State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, State Hospitals, Sokenu and Ijebu Ode as well as Bureau of Transport had their budget performance appraised by the lawmakers.
