As Christians across the globe celebrate Easter, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Suraju Ishola Adekunbi has enjoined the people, especially  Christians in the country to use the period to pray fervently for continued peace and unity in the country.

Adekunbi in a release by his Special Assitant on Media, Waheed Akinola, said that all Nigerians irrespective of religious affiliations had a task to work for the unity, peace and progress of the nation.

He noted that the lessons of humility, perseverance, resilience, sacrifice and total victory which played out in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ should be the watchword of all Nigerians.

“The lesson of love, humility, selflessness, forgiveness and perseverance shown by Jesus Christ through his death on the cross and resurrection should be emulated by all residents of the State and the nation at large at all times”, he remarked.

Commending the people for their contribution towards the promotion of democratic governance, the Speaker charged them to continue to be vigilant and promote acts that help sustain moral rectitude.
