The Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Foluso Daramola has lauded the state’s Governor Kayode Fayemi for his efforts at transforming the Technical and vocational Education in the state.
The commissioner gave the kudos to the Governor during his working visit to the Government Technical College, Ado Ekiti recently.
Mr. Daramola noted that the modern infrastructure and state of the art equipment, machines and tools provided by the present administration at the Technical College are omen of better days for the Technical and Vocational Education Sector.
The Commissioner who affirmed that Mr. Governor has approved the Internship Training programme for the second year students of the technical college with relevant private sector, commended the Governor for his passion for education development.
The Commissioner also disclosed that the World Bank in partnership with the Federal Government have agreed to renovate three Technical Colleges in each of the six Geo-political zones of the country and that Ekiti State was chosen as the pilot state in the South West.
The Commissioner explained that the Ministry is working out a modality for a seamless collaboration between the Government Technical College, Ado-Ekiti and the Samsung Academy situated in the same environment.
