Super Eagles striker, Henry Onyekuru scored twice on his return to Galatasaray’s starting line-up in Thursday’s 5-2 win over Yeni Malatyaspor in a Turkish Cup second leg semi-final clash.

The goals took Onyekuru’s tally to 14 across all competitions with three assists.

Galatasaray qualified for the finals of the Turkish Cup with a 5-2 aggregate win after the first leg ended goalless last month.

The 21-year-old forward missed Galatasaray’s 3-1 win against Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig due to accumulated yellow but made an instant impact for Galatasaray setting up Martin Linnes to score the opener after five minutes.

The Everton loanee also had a hand in Sofiane Feghouli doubling the lead for Galatasaray six minutes before half time when he stole the ball from a Yeni Malatyaspor and raced through on goal before a string of passes in the edge of Yeni Malatyaspor penalty area set up the Algerian to score a stunner.

Danijel Aleksic reduced the deficit in additional time of the first half from the spot but Onyekuru restored Galatasaray’s two-goal lead in the 58th minute when he rounded off the goalkeeper from close range before tapping into an empty net.

He made it 4-1 in the 74th minute finishing off a counter-attack. Kostas Mitroglou made the win emphatic scoring the fifth goal before Arturo Mina scored a second goal for the hosts, Yeni Malatyaspor with a header in the 89th minute.

Galatasaray will face Akhisar Belediyespor in the final of the Turkish Cup.
