Community Grammar School, Kudeti Old Students Give Back to Their Alma Mater

In the spirit of giving back to their alma mater, old students from the 1992 set of Community Grammar School, Kudeti, Ibadan (CGSKI) have chosen to facilitate the total beautification of the school for the benefit of its students and members of staff.

While speaking during their reunion, held at the school premises recently, the chairman of the 1986/1992 set, Engineer Abideen Dauda said his set has decided to commence the first phase of their beautification project which include the renovation of a block of four classrooms with 400 chairs and tables   for the senior secondary students, 10 desktop computers for the school’s ICT usage as well as painting of the school gate and fence.

The Chairman stated that the gesture is to appreciate the school which has made them and also to support the Oyo State Government in developing the education sector of the state. Engineer Dauda in his address said it is important for every alumnus of every school to come together and give back to their respective schools for posterity’s sake.

He called on every member of CGSKI to come together in order to bring back the lost glory of the school.

The National Chairman of the association, Dr. Muideen Olatunji commended the effort of 1986/1992 set of the school for putting the alma mater in mind despite the economic situation of the country. He therefore charged them to continue to follow the good legacy they have chosen having being the first set to have come together to give back to the school.

The medical practitioner promised to give maximum support to the 1992 set and any other set that shows readiness to give back to the school as that is the best way to encourage the students and make the premises an enabling environment in order to raise the standard.

While delivering her speech, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Abosede Ajayi appreciated the old students’ association for their love and passion towards the school; she also thanked the association’s national chairman for his support, financially and morally.

Mrs. Ajayi also charged the chairman never to relax and to use everything in his capacity to reach out to more members of the association.

Meanwhile, the CGSKI 1992set has selected Hon Olukunle Taiwo, Fabunmi Kamorudeen and Mathew Adegboye as members of the three-man committee that will oversee the project which has since commenced.
