Dr Kayode Fayemi’s government in Ekiti State has once again declared its genuine  commitment to holistically reform its only University, the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti for it to take its place as a world class 21st century citadel of learning.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji, who made this known in Ado-Ekiti while inaugurating the body of Professors of the Ekiti State University Alumni Association, said the constitution of the visitation panel to the institution by Governor Kayode Fayemi at the inception of the administration was to restore the lost glory of the state-owned institution.

Oyebanji, who noted that the recommendations of the panel which are now being implemented by the institution’s governing Council have begun to yield desired results requested for concerted effort from all stakeholders to change the negative tale of the university.

The SSG urged both members of the alumni association and the school management to unite and  work together towards making the school world class rated University that would be famous for academic and moral excellence.

He promised government’s support as they advance the course of the institution.

Earlier in his remarks, the National President of the University’s Alumni Association, Asiwaju Oludotun Adetunberu, who expressed appreciation to the Governor for his unwavering support for the University, enumerated the support to include resolution of the crisis rocking the institution’s College of Medicine; release of fund for the accreditation of the school’s College of Medicine; release of a 22-seater Coaster bus for the use of the college and the financial assistance provided for the Law students of the institution to enable them participate in an international seminar amongst several others.
