Dr Kayode Fayemi’s Government in Ekiti State has reiterated that it will continue to prioritize the welfare of teachers in the State.
The Chairman, Teaching Service Commission, Honourable Babatunde Abegunde gave the hint while monitoring schools’ resumption in Gbonyin local government area of Ekiti State.
Abegunde who expressed satisfaction on the teacher’s disposition to duties assured them that government would continue to put smiles on their faces.
The schools visited include Aisegba Community Grammar School, Aisegba Ekiti, Ayo Daramola Memorial Grammar School, Ijan Ekiti and Odugbaye Comprehensive High School, Imesi Ekiti all in Gbonyin local government area of Ekiti State.
The Chairman discovered that most schools lacked the required number of teachers as compared with the high rate of Students population.
He commended the teachers for their diligence and dedication to duties noting that the teachers were the molders of leaders of tomorrow who need to be adequately motivated.
Earlier, the Principals of these Schools had enumerated some of the challenges confronting the schools to include, lack of toilet facility, water, shortage of Personnel etc.
They thanked the Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi for putting the right pegs in round holes in his choice of appointment for education to move forward in the State.
