Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers has rued Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho’s missed scoring opportunity in his side’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League on Monday night.

On as a substitute in the 80th minute, the Nigeria international had a chance to level the game after he was played in through on goal but dragged his effort wide of the mark.

”We had probably the best chance in the game with young Kelechi [Iheanacho], which unfortunately he didn’t take.

”It was just one of those games, but I’m very proud of the team. I think the performances that we’re starting to see now, especially against the big teams, bodes well for our future,” Rodgers said.

Meanwhile, Leicester City have included two Nigerian starlets, Layton Ndukwu and Calvin Ughelumba, on their roster for this month’s HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens competition in Hong Kong.

The Foxes Development squad will face Championship side Aston Villa, Kitchee and Singapore Cricket Club in Group B.
