Yemi Adenuga, a former Nigerian broadcaster and humanist has created history in far-away Ireland in Europe. She has just been elected as Councilor!

This makes her the first black woman to achieve this feat. She is now the councilor who represents Navan Municipal District at the Meath County Council under the canopy (or do we say umbrella) of Fine Gael Party.

In her reaction while speaking with PMParrot on Monday, she said “I am so happy. I really do not know what to say. I must thank God because He does not share His Glory with anyone.”

Her husband, Deji Adenuga, a popular Nigerian actor and businessman also reacted. He said “This is the Lord’s doing, and it’s marvelous in our eyes! History is made today in Navan today!!! Thank you beautiful people of Navan, thanks Yemi Adenuga campaign team, thanks everyone who supported the campaign one way or the other, thanks to those who campaigned against us!”

While in Nigeria, Yemi Adenuga worked with Ray Power FM Radio and was rated as one of the very best in Nigeria before she moved to Ireland.
