Nigeria’ Super Falcons have been defeated 1-0 by France in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Rennes.

This means that the Super Falcons of Nigeria will have to wait a little longer to know if they will play in the round of sixteen in the 2019 FIFA World Cup, as one of the best losers.

This is as a result of losing 1-0 to France.

As monitored by PMParrot live on DSTV, Wendie Renard converted a penalty in the 79th minute, after Ngozi Ebere was shown a red card (after a second yellow card).

She had earlier missed a penalty, but referee booked goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for stepping her feet outside the line, and ordered that the penalty be re-taken.

Both sides made changes afterwards but the scoreline remained the same till the end of the match. Additional eight minutes were added though.

It was clear that the lack of knowledge of the new rules of the game cost the African queens the game.
