The Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo has said that the June Edition of the monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise will hold on Saturday 29th of June, 2019 between the hours of 7am – 10am.
According to him, there would be restriction of movement during the exercise except for those duly identified as being on official assignments.
The Commissioner said that the regular sanitation in all market places as well as in all the MDAs would hold on Friday 28th June, 2019. According to him, the Theme for this month Environmental Exercise is “Clean Your Environment”.
Hon. Agbeyo said that all Government functionaries and Security Agencies are expected to monitor the exercise to further enforce compliance.
He also directed all Local Government Environmental Health Officers to ensure that people come out and clean their surroundings during the period.
The Commissioner therefore enjoined the general public to clean the drainages in front of their houses, shops and also make sure they dump the refuse properly into bins and other authorized refuse dumps in their areas during the exercise.
