The Director General, Ekiti State Council of Arts and Culture, Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre has restated the State government’s commitment to celebrate and promote legends who are involved in showcasing the culture, tradition, values and heritage of Ekiti people.

Ojo Lanre stated this while receiving King Femi Ariyo, an indigenous traditional musician in Ekiti state, who paid him a visit in his office.

King Ariyo, an award winning septuagenarian with over 60 albums to his credit is a contemporary of the late Chief Elemure Ogunyemi, Ologun Sanni, Ajoyemi and others of blessed memory.

Ojo Lanre maintained that one of the roles of the council is to identify, develop, promote and celebrate the major actors involved in showcasing Ekiti cultural heritage as well as creating a platform for training of the younger and upcoming ones.

“Already we are collaborating with various groups in the creativity industry to rebrand and showcase Ekiti arts, culture and tradition to the world for socio-economic growth and development of the state”, the Ekiti Cultural Ambassador affirmed.
