It is now part of Nigeria’s history that at a time, Mr Omowole Sowore, the Publisher of SaharaReporters, a vibrant online news portal and others attempted to ‘jump start’ a revolution in the country.

Records also can confirm that the said Sowore has since been arrested by the ubiquitous instruments of the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government and he may not be released very soon.

However, it will amount to being ‘solomonic’ if President Buhari and all the state governors including all other elected and appointed government officials can rethink, reconsider and ask themselves pertinent questions. Is NIGERIA really being governed well?

The question is No. We must quickly add here that the problems of the country did not start with the advent of the Buhari administration. However, Mr President must take time to appraise the situation of things. The major issue that bothers Nigerians most is insecurity.

Most observers believe this is being fueled by the pre-eminence of poverty. What are the governments at all levels doing to alleviate poverty? In addition, infrastructures are almost non-existent. Power supply situation has improved in some parts of the country, but are we really where we are supposed to be? What of health care service delivery? For example, in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, citizens cannot acquire their International Passports again. Reason? No raw material. This amounts strictly to inefficiency. FG generates serious revenue via this sector. There should be no excuses. Other sectors of the economy are having various bad reports. President Buhari must really re-assess things, his government and be realistic.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The month of August is here again and it time to thank God for sustaining us in what we used to dub, the ‘murky waters’ of the publishing industry. In our usual tradition, we must thank all those who have supported us physically and spiritually in the past 15 years. We are most appreciative especially to those who have directly contributed to our ‘History’ in the past 15 years. They, as well as other Friends of Parrots  will all be recognized officially and given our ‘Medals of Honour’ as well as certificates at our Anniversary Gala Nite. Watch out!
