President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to as a matter of urgency improve on the security architecture of the country in order to end insurgency in Nigeria.

The National President of the Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW), Alhaji Mashood Mustapha made this known via a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday.

Mustapha in the statement made available to our correspondent in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the association, Mr. Musliudeen Adebayo, urged Nigerians to remember their brothers and sisters in IDP Camps who have been made homeless and family-less by insurgency.

He called on the government to improve the security architecture of the country so as to combat insurgency especially, in the North East.

Mustapha said, “May all our prayers be answered. On behalf of the Nigeria Association of Social Workers, I wish you all divine blessings, may this celebration bring peace and joy.

“As we celebrate this Eid El Kabir, we should remember our brothers and sisters in IDP Camps who have been made homeless and family-less by insurgency.

“The Association is calling on our Government to improve on the security architecture, as this insurgency is denying hope to millions of our people, may God enrich our souls with resistance to what is evil.

“The Nigeria Association of Social Workers, while praying for peace, would also like to draw the attention of our Government to the glaring huge gap between the haves and the have nots.

“The Association is of the opinion that corruption, poverty and unemployment, are likely reasons for insurgency, kidnapping and banditry in our country.

“The Association is hereby calling for an enabling social and political environment for the growth and development of our youth by putting an end to the social and economic insecurity.

“I thank all the members of social work community for keeping hope alive, we should live by the faith of Prophet Ibrahim to endure  our present challenges. It shall be well, there is God’s promise on our bill.”
