An appeal has gone to Ekiti State contingent to the Youth Zonal Elimination sports coming up soon in Ibadan, Oyo state capital to be good ambassadors of the state by conducting themselves in orderly manner and playing to the rules of the games.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Michael Awopetu gave the charge while addressing the contingent in Ado-Ekiti.
The Commissioner who enjoined each of the athletes to practice well and be technically sound in their respective sports to enable them excel and win laurels for Ekiti State, said the government will reward medalists.
Hon. Awopetu enumerated the sports the state will be fielding athletes to include football, hockey, basketball, handball, volleyball and cricket with an assurance that the state government will give adequate financial support to encourage them.
In his own remarks, the General Manager of the Ekiti State Sports Council, Mr. Deji Samo expressed his optimism that the training the contingents have received will surely help them emerge victoriously in all the six games.
