Kenneth Omeruo, Super Eagles’ star defender has revealed that he is ready for his first start of the La Liga season when Leganes file out against Atletico Madrid in a derby on Sunday.
Omeruo who completed his switch to the Spanish club from Chelsea earlier this month was an unused substitute in the team’s 1-0 home loss to Osasuna in their opening game of the campaign.
The Eagles defender, was a key member of the club last season playing 28 league games with 25 starts, and making three appearance in the Copa del Rey.
Omeruo will be hoping to get back into the first team against Diego Simeone’s side.
Looking forward to the game, the defender took to his Instagram handle to declare his readiness for the tie against the former La Liga champions.
“It’s been a good week of hard work. Getting ready for Sunday’s game,” he wrote on Instagram.
Omeruo’s compatriot, Chidozie Awaziem, will also be hoping to get started with the team.
Atletico are yet to beat Leganes in a La Liga match in their last three meetings at the Municipal Butarque Stadium.
