Again, Fayemi’s Government Puts Smiles On Faces Of Ekiti Retirees

Dr Kayode Fayemi’s government in Ekiti State has released another 100 million naira to 52 retirees as gratuities in fulfillment of its promise to ensure that pensioners enjoy worthy lives after their meritorious service.

The Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Department (PTAD), Mr. Adebiyi Afolabi disclosed this while flagging off the official presentation of the cheques to the beneficiaries in Ado-Ekiti.

Mr. Adebiyi advised them not to be careless with their bank details like their BVN either with their family members or any other person for security reason, as some people they least suspected could tamper with their accounts.

The Executive Secretary advised the pensioners to participate in the Co-operatives Societies within the Civil Service for now for to forestall future eventualities, adding that the Civil Service

Cooperative Societies are more dependable than those Co-operative Societies operating outside the Civil Service.

The PTAD Boss who disclosed that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Kayode Fayemi has been faithful in releasing the gratuity promptly, urged pensioners to ensure they always come for their cheques as soon as possible.

The Chairman of the National Union of Pensioners, Ekiti State Chapter, Elder Ayo Ikumapayi commended the State Government for increasing the fund for gratuities from 10 million to 100 million monthly, adding that this has really assisted in paying more retirees.

Elder Ikumapayi, who disclosed that a programme will soon be on air at the Progress FM 100. 5 Station, Ado-Ekiti that will focus on issues relating to pensioners’ health care and other welfare packages that have to do with them, charged pensioners not to be careless with their account details as earlier advised.

In response, some pensioners, Mrs. Ebunoluwa Adeyanju, Mr. Felix Makanju and Mr. Adeoba Bamidele thanked the Governor of Ekiti State, the Executive Secretary and all the Directors of Pension Transactional

Arrangement Department for their commitment to their duties and promised their support for Fayemi-led administration.
