Redeemer’s University Graduates 344 Students At 11th Convocation

Exactly 344 Students have been graduated at the 11th Convocation Ceremony of the Redeemer’s University in Ede, Osun State.

21 of the graduands made First class honours, 91 are in the Second Class Upper Division, 131 graduated with Second Class Lower Division. 55 fell into the Third Class and three into Pass Categories.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Anthony Enisan Akinlo said “in addition, 11 others are being awarded Bachelor of Arts in Christian Religious Studies with one of them graduating with First Class, six others with Second Class Upper Division and four with Second Class Lower Division. 18 others are also awarded Diploma in Religious Studies.

The statistics of the number of students that graduated was put at 344 students by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Anthony Enisan Akinlo while delivering his speech at the 11th Convocation Ceremony of the Redeemer’s University in Ede.

He announced the emergence of the Best Graduating Student to be Miss Dosunmu Mary Opeyemi who studied Accounting from the Department of Financial Studies in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences from the Institution with a CPGA of 4.88.

Professor Anthony Enisan Akinlo thereafter announced that the Redeemer’s University has offered her an automatic employment as a Graduate Assistant and a full scholarship for her Postgraduate Programmes in the institution.

In the same vein, an Honorary Doctorate Degree beneficiary during the 11th Convocation, Chief Tunde Afolabi, the Chairman of AMNI International Petroleum Development Company  publicly announced an automatic job offer for Opeyemi Mary Dosunmu as an Accountant Trainee at AMNI.

Afolabi who was conferred with Doctor of Science alongside the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unity Bank, Mrs. Oluwatomi Somefun, who also bagged a Doctor of Business Administration, promised to establish an annual award for best student in Health Sciences in the school beginning from next session.

While giving his remarks, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Redeemer’s University in Ede, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, told the graduating students not to be overwhelmed by the challenges facing the country and urged them not to lose focus and confront challenges of life.

Osinbajo represented by the Acting Chairman of the Board of the Redeemer’s University, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade advised the new graduands not to keep negative friends who would only complain of the country’s challenges without saying or making efforts to ensure they equally make their own positive impact on the nation.

The Visitor to the Redeemer’s University in Ede, Osun State who is also the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG Worldwide), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye who was represented at the Convocation by Pastor Joseph Obayemi, the National Overseer of RCCG in Nigeria congratulated the new graduands and urged them to be ready to engage their heads and hands as they proceed to the bigger world.

Pastor Adeboye praised the parents who partnered with the Redeemer’s University by sending their children and wards there. “As God’s heritage in your hands, I pray for you all that you will continually rejoice over them throughout their lives, even as you equally continue to give them godly supports and encouragements”.

Adeboye also used the opportunity to urge both parents, students and the new graduands to be reconciled back to God. He stressed and maintained that everyone that associates with God can never be small. Prophesying, Pastor Adeboye declared that from this day, a little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation and he quoted the book of Isaiah 60:22. The great shall call you great.
