Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has said he would be relentless in his support for development partners towards transforming the state.
Dr. Fayemi made this known in Ado-Ekiti at the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Sector Wide Approach (WASH-Swap) meeting with stakeholders drawn from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji assured WASH-Swap of his government’s commitment to joining hands with them to achieve their mandate.
He stressed that he would stop at nothing to ensure the state becomes open defecation free as the state stands to gain more from the feat.
Governor Fayemi commended the efforts of EU/UNICEF at working towards sustainability of their projects, thanking them for including Ekiti among benefiting states.
Earlier, The Consultant WASH, Dr. Roy Etom Egba had reiterated EU/UNICEF desire to collaborate with the state government to improve the state’s economy, stressing that they support opportunities for job creation especially for the youth.
He noted that the meeting was meant to build framework that will help the state leverage resources to deliver water, sanitation and hygiene across the state.
In his remarks, Commissioner for Infrastructure and public utilities, Engr. Bamidele Faparusi expressed appreciation to the Governor for his unprecedented support aimed at making water sector viable in the state.
