An Executive Assistant to Oyo State’s Governor Seyi Makinde, Rev. Idowu Ogedengbe has said that his emergence as the number one citizen of the state was a fulfillment of a long time prophecy.

Rev. Idowu Ogedengbe made this known while speaking at a thanksgiving service organised by the Special Strategic Group for the enthronement of Engr. Seyi Makinde as governor of Oyo State held at Maranatha Chapel, Iwo road, Ibadan recently.

Rev. Ogedengbe stated that Governor Seyi Mankind’s time to become a governor was at God’s ordained time for a new Nigeria to emerge, with a new dawn starting from Oyo state.

He explained that Oyo state will not just be a pacesetter of a new Nation of Nigeria but that of Africa as a whole.

Ogendengbe noted that Engr. Mankind’s zero tolerance for corruption will not make him to embark on any programme for self aggrandizement but people-centered programmes and projects.

He added that Governor Makinde stands at a vantage position to carefully assess the good and the errors of the past leaders in the state, saying that he is always interested in knowing the motive for a programme or project started or put in place by the past administration to know if such programme or project should be continued or stopped.

While giving the assurance that Engr. Makinde’s achievements will surpass that of his predecessors, he admonished Christians to prayerfully consider going into politics once they are sure God is asking them to do so.

“There is nothing wrong for Christians to go into politics. Once you are sure God is leading you towards that direction, pray very well, join a political party, attend their meetings from ward level, make sure you participate actively in all the activities of the party of your choice and make up your mind to make a positive difference as a Christian”.

Speaking earlier at the meeting, the convener of the Special Strategic Group, Dr. Olatunde Oladoyinbo thanked members for their selfless service at the time it was well needed. He urged them to be praying for the success of the government of Engineer Makinde.

Dr. Oladoyinbo who said Christians are duty bound to pray constantly and consistently for all those in authority noted that Nigeria is about to witness a significant turnaround that will birth a new Nation that citizens will be proud of, starting from Oyo State which is the pacesetter state and the spiritual gateway to the nation.

Members of the group who were drawn from all the 33 local government councils of the state took quality time to pray for Oyo State in particular and Nigeria generally.
