- 19 Cars Confiscated Afterwards
Men from the Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, raided a nightclub that is allegedly notorious for hosting parties for suspected internet fraudsters in Osogbo.
The raid led to the arrest of 94 suspects and confiscation of 19 cars, laptops, mobile phones and other items.
The nightclub popularly known as ‘Club Secret Underground’, is said to be located on the Ibadan-Iwo road in the Osun State capital.
The commission’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement said the operation was a follow-up to an intelligence report that the suspected internet fraudsters were having a party to celebrate their loots.
“A discreet operation on the club had earlier been carried out to ascertain the authenticity of the intelligence. The confirmation led to the mega raid effected on Monday,” he said.
Uwujaren said the suspects were undergoing further interrogation, adding that those indicted would be charged to court after investigations.
