Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of Ekiti State has promised to ensure the return of some Federal Agencies that left the state during the immediate past administration.
Fayemi made the promise during the week in Ado-Ekiti, while receiving Executive members of the Forum of Heads of Federal Establishments in Ekiti State.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, expressed his readiness to partner with Federal Agencies to ensure that the people of the state benefit from Federal Government policies and programmes.
The Forum expressed sadness that not less than five Federal Agencies were forced to leave Ekiti owing to alleged harsh policies of the Ayo Fayose administration.
The Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Olufemi Olugbenga, who commended the Fayemi administration for being friendly with agencies of the Federal Government, lamented about the maltreatment and crackdown visited on them by the Ayodele Fayose Regime.
The Governor urged the Forum to avail his administration on information about the Federal Agencies that left Ekiti under Fayose with a view to working out modalities to bring them back and even attract more to the state.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) equally promised that the State Government would continue to create enabling environment for Federal Agencies to thrive in the state.
Fayose said: “There are Federal Institutions that are in Abuja and other states that are not in Ekiti “You that are here, you know all these establishments, let us know them and what we can do to attract more to Ekiti.
“Give us the list of those chased out by the last administration, we will appeal to them and ensure they return to the state.”
Earlier in his speech, Mr. Olugbenga of the Federal Incubation Centre, appealed to the State Government and the people of the state to take advantage of the numerous Federal Government programmes in the state.
Olugbenga disclosed that the Forum would continue to initiate programmes that would educate both State and Federal Government Staff on Federal Government programmes that can be of benefit to them.
According to him the Forum has enlisted the service of the Chief Executive/Managing Director of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Ahmed Dangoya, to enlighten Public Servants on the justification and prospect of National Housing Fund.
The State Head of Service, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi, promised that the Civil Service would continue to engage the Forum in the area of capacity building and development.
Ajayi mentioned that the Code of Conduct Bureau was recently invited to educate top government functionaries on matters relating to the bureau and what was expected of them.
The Head of Service promised to sustain and strengthened the cordial and existing relationship between the Federal and State Government Workers.
