Dr Kayode Fayemi’s government in Ekiti State has ordered contractors handling the neighborhood markets in each of the sixteen (16) Local Government Areas of the state back to site.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Prof. Adio Folayan, who gave the directive at a meeting with the contractors in Ado-Ekiti, lamented that the immediate past administration in the state abandoned the laudable project that was initiated during the first term of Governor Fayemi.
Reiterating the commitment of the present administration to boosting socio-economic activities at the grassroots, Prof. Folayan assured that the neighborhood markets would assist in empowering people at the grass root and as well improve their livelihood..
Mr. Sola Ogunmiluyi, who encouraged the contractors to go back to site, directed the Director of Works in the Local Government Council to mobilize them and make sure that the market projects were completed in earnest.
