It was Sunday, December 1, 2019, and the day will remain simply glorious in the annals of the Shafaudeen In Islam worldwide. The entire sprawling Wakajaye community, for the greater part of the day, brimmed over with palpable conviviality. And guests’ faces bore it!

As early as 10.00 a.m. on that bubbling day, an army of guests had begun to throng the Shafaudeen International Mosque, amid heavy vehicular traffic, to witness the 63rd birthday of the founder and spiritual head of Shafaudeen In Islam worldwide, Alhaji (Professor) Sabit Ariyo Olagoke.

The very beautifully decorated venue was filled to capacity.

Unarguably, the much publicised event did not fall short of expectations as important dignitaries, notably royal fathers, government functionaries, academics, captains of industries, religious leaders, all graced the occasion.

Equally elated, the ‘birthday boy’, Alhaji Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke, who emphasized that religious people must realize that their religious activities must be towards improving various cultures, to ensure they comply with United Nations’ rolled out civilization standard.

He said religious people of the 21st century must direct their energies towards the three rings of life, starting from education that must be functional to religion that must be scripture compliant, both of which are the engine room for political activities.

Prof. Olagoke posited that religious activities must have a paradigm shift from the realm of rhetorics to that of beneficial design, constructions, and productivity activities in an environment of love, moral discipline, transparency and accountability which are basic to divine demand.

He maintained that this is what the scripture admonishes but is lacking in Nigeria’s system of governance. “The source of our failure is poor governance or bad leadership without sincerity of purpose as they affect us at networking at corporate level”.

Speaking on, “Life of Meaningful Impact of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W),” the Chief Imam of Oluyole Extension, Alhaji Mudathir Bada, who gave the keynote address said religion as a tool of salvation and breakthrough for mankind, has its evolutionary trend and it is as old as the advent of mankind on earth.

Alhaji Bada, however, said Islam as a complete way of life and religion of uprightness and it teaches morality as humanity is, through the mercy of Allah, allowed to operate and live on a regulated law of nature even though he has his free will, albeit, within the ambit of the regulatory law of purpose of creation.

Dignitaries in attendance on the occasion included the Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Muslim Wing;  the Chief Imam of Oyo, Alhaji Sheik (Dr) Mas’uud Abdul Ganiyy Adebayo Ajokidero 111; Director, Family Health & Population Action Committee (FAH&PAC) Alhaji Omotosho Gbolagade; retired High Court judge in Osun State, Hon. Justice Kunle Adeigbe; Tokunbo Ajasin; Iya Adinni of Yorubaland, Alhaja Chief (Mrs) Sekinat Olapeju Adekola; Eze Ndigbo of Oyo State, Eze (Dr) Alex Anozie; amongst others.
