All arrangements are being concluded to celebrate a veteran Yoruba Actor, Chief Jimoh Aliu who will be rolling out the drums at 85.
One of the members of the organizing committee informed PMParrot that plans are already in top gear to make Thursday, December 19 a memorable one for the talented actor.
From what we gathered, the birthday events include the Launching of Chief Jimoh Aliu’s EPIC DOCUDRAMA and the presentation of AKONI OSERE TI ILE ODU’A AWARD by Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba, Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, the umbrella body of all the notable Yoruba Youths’ and Students’ Organisations
These events are billed to be hosted by Engr Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, and it will also feature other Yoruba Governors and Leaders of among whom are Dr Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of Ekiti State, who doubles as the Chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum and he is also the Governor from the home State of the celebrant.
Also expected to play major roles are Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, lba Gani Adams; and Alhaji Daud Akinola, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland and others.
The Royal Host and the Grand Royal Host are Their lmperial Majesties, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso l, and Oba (Dr) Lamidi Atanda Olayiwola Adeyemi lll, JP, LLD, CFR; Olubadan of lbadanland and Alaafin of Oyo respectively.
We were told that the venue for the events is Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, lbadan, and all activities will start by 11am prompt.
