Day Afe Babalola Played Host To Ekiti’s AG

Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda recently led his team from the State Ministry of Justice, on a courtesy visit to an Elder Statesman and Founder, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola at his ABUAD office.

Fapohunda while speaking during the visit appreciated Aare Afe Babalola for his support so far to the State, particularly the Ministry of Justice over the years.

The Attorney General highlighted three reasons for the visit, which includes the construction of a new Ministry of Justice Complex.

The Attorney General also solicited the support of the College of Law of the Afe Babalola University, so that students from the College would have practical Knowledge of Law and benefits from the various Departments at the State’s Ministry of Justice, including the office of the Public Defendant.

He therefore called for need to review the already existing Memorandum of Understanding with the College of Law, ABUAD.

In his reaction, Aare Afe Babalola commended the Commissioner for the visit to Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti.

In his words, he said “What you are doing is noble. It has no Precedence.”

The University founder however promised to support the Ministry of Justice in actualizing the the Attorney General’s dream on the building project.

Afe Babalola who lamented the current situation in the State called on prominent Ekiti indigenes home and abroad to contribute their quota to the development of the State.

The Provost of the College of Law, ABUAD, Professor Smaranda Olarinde in her own remarks informed the gathering that over the years,

Students from the College have undergone Internship at the State’s Ministry of Justice and same as been productive.

Members of the Attorney General Team include some Directors in the Ministry, Mr Tunde Olaolorun; Special Assistant to the Attorney General on Media and Publicity, Ibironke Odetola; Special Assistant, Office of the Attorney General on Legal issues, Mr Femi Onipede; Coordinator of Ministry of Justice Academy.
