Two Former Attorney General, NLC, JUSUN Bosses, Others Bag Oyo CJ’s 2019 Award Of Excellence

Two former Attorney General and Commissioners for Justice in Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Ojo and Barr. Seun Abimbola were among the prominent personalities that received the 2019 Justice Munta Ladipo Abimbola Award of Excellence recently.

Also on the list of Chief Judge’s Award were Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Oyo State chapter, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo and his Vice, who is also the Chairman of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Oyo State, Comrade Kayode Martins.

The Annual Chief Judge’s Award Presentation/Send-Off/End of the Year Party was held at High Court of Justice, Ring-Road, Ibadan.

In his address, the Chief Judge, Justice Munta Abimbola, acknowledged judiciary staff as an important instrument in the  quick dispensation and administration of Justice in the state.

He attributed the successes recorded in the state judiciary to the cooperation, peace and tranquility maintained by all judiciary staff members.

Justice Abimbola reiterated his commitment to the welfare and general well-being of the judiciary workers in Oyo State through prompt payment of all necessary allowances as at when due.

In order for the judiciary to continue to maintain its standard, the Chief Judge said that he would not condone any act of corruption, he added that all non-conformists to the rules and regulations guiding the system would not be spared.

Justice Abimbola commended the leadership of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, under the chairmanship of Mr. Kayode Martins, for the exhibition of high level of cooperation, discipline and hard work.

The Chief Registrar, Mrs. Fatima Badrudeen enumerated commissioning of New High Court, Saki, Magistrate Court, Ago-Are, completion of Evaluation Department and Multidoor Court as some of the achievements recorded under Justice Munta Abimbola.

While confirming that welfare of judicial staff members is paramount in the heart of the Chief Judge, Mrs. Badrudeen disclosed that Justice Abimbola has approved the 2018 promotion.

The Chief Registrar urged all judiciary workers to reciprocate the kind gesture of the Chief Judge by carrying out their lawful duties effectively and efficiently, with high level of discipline.

In his welcome address, the Chairman, Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Oyo State, Kayode Martins, appreciated the Chief Judge for his fatherly role and ceaseless effort towards raising the working condition of judiciary workers in the state.

While assuring the Chief Judge of continuous cooperation on behalf of judiciary workers, Martins appealed for more training and conferences on administration and court management for staff members to keep them updated among contemporaries.

He encouraged all Judiciary staff members not to relent in their effort to ensure that judicial system in Oyo State is placed on serious high level.

The President of Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Eni Esan and Chief Registrar, Mrs. Ajadi, also felicitated with the judiciary workers in Oyo State.

They appealed to them to be more responsive and responsible in their various tasks assigned to them.
