Alex Iwobi, Everton forward may have had his new adventure at the Toffees cut short after suffering a hamstring injury in the goalless draw against Arsenal last month, but it seems the 23-year-old is still in new manager, Carlo Ancelotti’s plans as the former Napoli boss plans a squad overhaul.

Ancelotti took over from interim coach, Duncan Ferguson, who stepped in after Marcos Silva was sacked in December and after just four games in charge, the Italian has decided to offload non-performing players.

According to Tbr.com, the 60-year-old chose to let go some players after the Toffees suffered a 1-0 loss to a young Liverpool side in the FA Cup third round.

The website stated that the quintet Gylfi Sigurdsson, Theo Walcott, Cenk Tosun, Micheal Keane and Jordan Pickford top the list of those be axed.

Another player reportedly facing the axe is former Manchester United midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin.

However, Iwobi, seems to have escaped the axe as the website reports that the Italian still holds the Nigeria international in high esteem and believes he has a lot to offer once he returns from injury.

The former Arsenal player completed a £34m switch to Merseyside this season, going on to register two goals, and one assist in 20 appearances for the Toffees.
