Dr Kayode Fayemi’s government in Ekiti State is ready to release bursary allowances to students in all the higher institutions of learning across the country.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Prof Adio Folayan disclosed this during the January edition of Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting held in Ado-Ekiti.
Prof Adio Folayan noted that the payment of bursary to deserving students is in line with Governor Kayode Fayemi’s Five Point Agenda which centred on knowledge economy.
He added that the present administration is working round the clock at making life better for its citizenry and promised that Government would be relentless in its efforts to give succour and put smiles on the faces of the people.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Ekiti South West Local Government, Barrister Kola Kolade Amire has been named as the new Chairman of the Ekiti State ALGON and Hon. Ropo Ige, Chairman Ijero Local Government as the Secretary.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Prof Adio Folayan made the announcement at the JAAC meeting for the month of January, 2020 which was attended by the Permanent Secretary,
Mr. Sola Ogunmiluyi, all the council Chairmen of the 16 local government areas of the state, the Directors of Administration and Directors of Finance of the local governments, the NULGE Chairman and other stakeholders.
Others are Mr. Sola Olominu, the Ikole Local Government Chairman as the Treasurer and Mr. Sina Ogunleye, Chairman Irepodun/Ifelodun as the ALGON P.R.O.
The Commissioner charged the ALGON leaders to be upright and ensure that the body works assiduously in line with the progressive ideology of Governor Kayode Fayemi to entrench sustainable development in the local government.
Professor Afolayan who charged other members of the body to cooperate and support the ALGON leadership for successful administration assured them of the government’s backing to restore the values of diligence and integrity at the local government level.
